Useful For

Vancomycin is a glycopeptide antibiotic useful in the treatment of infections caused by methicillin resistant staphylococci (MRSA) and other gram positive bacteria.

It is important to monitor the level of vancomycin and adjust the dosage on an individual basis in patients with impaired renal function.

Special Instructions

Note: Peak - level should be drawn 60 minutes after completion of infusion of an intravenous dose.

          Trough - level should be drawn just prior to next dose
