Test Code TRTWD Troponin-T High Sensitivity with Delta
Performing Laboratory
Hunterdon Medical Center
Useful For
High sensitivity Cardiac Troponin T (cTnT) is useful for monitoring acute coronary syndromes including myocardial infarction and is associated with an improved rule-out process.
To distinguish between acute and chronic cardiac troponin elevation a High Sensitivuty Troponin with Delta (TRTWD) may be ordered two to three hours following the initial Troponin T test, at the discretion of the ordering physician. Serial testing is available only for ED patients.
A serial Troponin test is collected and the subsequent results are compared to the baseline test and the delta change is calculated.
