Specimen should be collected after the onset of symptoms
Specimen Required
- Collect in Para-Pak® Clean Vial (white cap).
- Specimen should be collected in a clean, dry container or may be collected from a diaper and transferred to the clean vial.
Specimen Type
Stool specimen.
Specimen Transport Temperature
Ambient: Deliver within 1 hour.
If delivery is delayed: Refrigerate at 2-8°C.
Specimen Stability Information
72 hours.
Reject Due To
Specimens containing high levels of blood may interfere with testing and cause an invalid result. Testing of an additional specimen is recommended in this case.
