Special Instructions
Patient Preparation:
1. Patient should be fasting 10-12 hours prior to baseline draw.
2. Patient may have water before and during test.
3. Patient must be prepared to remain in the testing area for the duration of the test (3.5-4 hours).
Testing Protocol:
1. Patient's glucose level is checked by fingerstick.
2. Fasting blood specimen is collected by venipuncture.
3. Patient is given measured amount of lactose to drink.
4. Blood specimens are collected at the following intervals after completion of the lactose drink:
30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hour and 3 hours
