Useful For
The presence of Hepatitis B Core IgM (Anti-HBc IgM) antibodies is useful in the diagnosis of acute hepatitis B. The antibodies develop early in the disease and may remain positive for many months after infection. The test may be positive after HBsAg has disappeared and before HBs antibodies are detected.
