Call Hunterdon Medical Center Laboratory at 908-237-5529 to schedule appointment.
Patient Preparation:
- Patient should be fasting 10-12 hours prior to baseline draw. Water is permitted during this time and during testing.
- Fasting specimen is collected and glucose level is checked by fingerstick prior to administration of glucose.
- Glucose drink is administered:
- Non-pregnant adult: 75 grams
- Pregnant female: 100 grams
- Child: calculated based on weight
4. Specimens are collected at one hour intervals after the drink is completed. Including the fasting specimen, a total of five specimens will be collected.
5. The patient is required to stay in the Out Patient Department for the duration of the test.
