Useful For
Fibrinogen, an acute phase-reactive protein, is converted to fibrin by the action of thrombin. It may be elevated in infection, pregnancy, thrombolytic therapy and Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation (DIC).
Special Instructions
Note: Specimen must be filled to ETCHED line located on the Blue top tube in order to acheive a ratio of 9 parts blood to 1 part anticoagulant.
